SHYAS Peer Living Room is The Community Crisis Center.

SHYAS utilizes the living room model to provide resources and solutions for people who are facing a mental health challenges.

What is the “Living Room Model”

The Living Room model is a community crisis center model that offers people experiencing a mental health crisis an alternative to crowded emergency rooms and hospitalization. The Living Room Model is an alternative solution for Mental Health & Substance Use Crises in our community.

Peer Living Room Services include:

Crisis intervention including the development of safety plans
A safe place to rest and relax
Support from a Certified Peer Support Specialist with personal experience in managing mental health & substance use recovery
Intervention from licensed psychiatric professionals including therapist, NP, & MD
Referral to community resources including referrals for housing, healthcare, food mental health services and Substance use services.

Need mental health and/or substance use treatment and you do not know where to go.
